Juice Feast: Day Three

Sleep: 12:30 a.m. to 8:00 a.m.-- felt groggy, slightly headachey, a little bit hungry and stuffy in the nose when I woke up, but it quickly passed once I got up and moving my lymphatic system.
Water: 32 ounces with lemon, cayenne, MSM (2 tsp), probiotic, zeolite (x10 drops)-- sour and bitter, my two least favorite rasas (tastes), but managed to get it down.
Rebounding: 20mins to NPR--whatah geek!
Skin brushing/tongue scraping
Hot/cold shower
Juice: 64 ounces "Green Lemonade" -- romaine, celery, kale, cuke, apple, ginger, lime
Coconut water: 20 ounces
Juice: 22 ounces of "Pretty in Pink"-- grapefruit, tangelo, orange, blood orange
Juice: 32 ounces of "Italian Stallion" just got sexier!- celery, carrot, collards, cuke, scallions, alfalfa sprouts, endive, dill, lime, tomato, yellow squash, fennel, cayenne, Himalayan sea salt, kelp granules
Juice: 32 ounces of "Spice-n-Nice"-- pear, green apple, loads of ginger, 2 limes, YUM-ola! Reminds me of the warm pear/apple spiced cider I used to get at the farmers markets in the fall..spicy and sweet tangoing together in my mouth.
Coconut water: 12 ounces
"White Truffles" (hardened coconut oil) w/bee pollen, cinnamon and honey: x2
Plain water: 160z
Hemp Oil: 1 Tbs
Yoga: 20 mins
Sun Kissed: 30 mins on the "patio." It was 57 degrees and sunny in NYC today...ahhh
Walk: 6 miles total ...my body was on fire and wanted to pass everyone in sight, but my brain felt high and was floating through the crowds a little disoriented. I think I need to cut down on the sweet coconut water and fruit juices, as the highs and lows of the sugar rushes are going straight to me noggin'!
Weight Training: Does carrying 34 pounds of produce in my arms and on my back for twenty minutes count? I think I need to find a cart system. Starting to feel mule-like, and my trapezius muscles are up to my ears.

Hooray for day 3! After my initial morning grog, I felt really fab up until this afternoon when I started drinking the sweeter juices and coconut water. I tried to talk the 7 year old that I nanny for in the afternoons into a little "nap" time today, but she didn't go for it! haha

So it takes me just about 1 1/2 solid hours to do my juicing for the day from start to finish. I have to say getting it all done in one shot is laborious but absolutely the way to go. Nothing feels better than having juice waiting for you when you get home at night...ahhhh.

Feeling more physical sensations than emotional today. Its amazes me how easy it is for me to 'sit' with all the sensations that arise throughout the day being on a structured program like this one. For example, passing all these amazing smelling restaurants today was so easy. I could smell the fat, cheese, sauce and spices dripping off of peoples forks, which naturally evoked a sense of hunger in me. But rather than reacting to quell the "feeling" of hunger as quickly as possible (usually with food), I was fully able to acknowledged the desire and move on with a feeling of freedom.

Oh, how I wish to maintain this ease of being once I am off the JuiceFeast! But I know it will take time and patients...two things I am blessed to have access to right now.

Peace,
Kyle

It's inspiring to read your blog and your approach to dealing with cravings. I still struggle with that lately but at this point I look at food with more fascination than desire. It's really weird. The health food store is always like that for me; I walk around the aisles and look at things going "hmmm... tomato vodka spaghetti sauce? that's interesting!" LOL.

I have to apologize; I totally thought I had added a link to your blog already but it seems I'm a total tard because I didn't! Going to do that now! :)

Thank you so much for all that NYC info. I've been there twice before but I pretty much stayed in the time square area. One time I walked to chelsea from time square and had a nice day there. I used to always go to NYC for a fine-art experience. It'll be nice to go for a food and friends experience this time around! :) I hope you'll do me the pleasure of meeting me for tea or juice when I come down! :)
