Juice Feast: Day Two
Sleep: 1:00 a.m. to 7:30 a.m.-- felt headachey and HUNGRY when I woke up today...a little hungover perhaps from a late night coconut water feast? Now I am getting the "end with a green juice" thing. Thank you David and Katrina for you wisdom!
Water: 32 ounces with lemon, cayenne, MSM, probiotic
Rebounding: 20mins-- I love rebounding, but when you have a headache it feels a little bit like banging your head into a wall...but after about 5 mins everything started to relax, thank goodness!
Skin brushing/tongue scraping: I've been scraping my tongue x2 a day for several years now. It is an old Ayurvedic remedy that recommends you do this life practice right upon rising and before taking in any liquids or food so that you don't swallow the toxins back down that your body worked so hard to through out all night!
Hot/cold shower- I swear my eyesight is sharper from these showers!
Juice: 64 ounces "green lemonade" -- romaine, celery, kale, cuke, apple, ginger, lime
Coconut water: 20 ounces
Juice: 22 ounces of "Brain Food" - beet, carrot, parsley, ginger, lime
Juice: 32 ounces of "Italian Stallion" strikes again!- celery, carrot, collards, cuke, scallions, alfalfa sprouts, endive, dill, lime, tomato, kelp granules
Juice: 32 ounces of "Paradise Punch"-- pineapple, cuke, mint, lime --SOOOO good!
Coconut water: 12 ounces
"White Truffles" (hardened coconut oil) w/bee pollen, cinnamon and honey: x2
Plain water: 160z
Hemp Oil: 1 Tbs
Yoga: Decided to stay home and do a home practice. Got all my fav's in including some deep twist, which are great for encouraging BM's.... Speaking of which, dun dun dah...
Enema: Being a colonic therapist, I have to admit that I am a bit of a snob when it comes to enemas and was sceptical that the results would be worth my time. But jeeper creepers was I blasted away, literally! I will spare you from the beautiful details, but let's just say it was ALL green! I wonder why? haha
Sun Kissed: 20 mins --now that the days are getting longer, our sweet little patio (aka the fire escape) has become a perfect little sunning spot. Between my Paradise Punch and tanning session I felt transported to the Fiji Islands --that is until the fire engine sirens came screaming down 5th Avenue!
Body Work: 1 1/2 hours of deep, deep tissue massage and structural alignment -- This was my second of ten sessions and it was mostly focused on my legs and fee. Literally I could feel my practitioner squeezing the acid out of my muscles, tissues and cells....it was wild. He kept saying, "what do you mean you feel acid?" All I could say was that it feels exactly how it sounds- hot, pungent and sharp. Boy, did I feel wobbly and wiped out after that release!
Cat Nap: 30 mins just enough to let my body rest and assimilate the healing powers of touch therapy.
Feng Shui: I have been ignoring cleaning my "office" for months now....definitely a lot of piling and not filing action going on, until tonight! I have no tolerance for disorder and clutter these day. I can't wait to see how transformed our pad will be once this is all over.
Before and After Photo Shoot: I am not going to show them now, but I figured it would be fun to take photos of my body, skin, tongue and toe nails once every week till I break the feast- just to see if there are any noticeable differences. I am most curious about my toe nails (they have never been the most beautiful things in the world)!
I feel so much gratitude to have been gifted an entire 24 hours to JUST taking care of myself. What a luxury! In fact, I don't know if I have ever done this before? There was so much more ease of being juicing this morning....no where to go, nothing else to do--just me and Beauty (my juicer) creating one amazing blend of flavors and colors after another. Tomorrow will be a different story, as the work week begins, so I am savoring these last moments of total relaxation--juicy ben style (laptop in bed :)
I highly recommend body work while feasting. Today's session was so ALIVE. My body was incredible sensitive and highly in tuned with every muscle, tissue, bone, ligament being kneaded and put back into their proper places. With each stoke, visions of streams and free flowing water came to mind, and when my therapist would hit a sticky spot, I imagined the water wrapping itself around the rock and without hessitation flowing forward and moving on, unfazed by the "obstacle." Very liberating feeling.
I want to end today's post by sending my mother, who is struggling right now with letting the energy in her body flow freely, a little extra juicy love. She unfortunately had to go to the ER after falling on the ice and straining her already arthritic hip and back.
May we all have watery dreams tonight.....
