Juice Feast: Day Thirteen

Sleep: 10:45pm-7:45 -- again, so many great "morning" dreams I didn't want to get up!
Hot Tea: 16oz Peppermint
Skin brushing/tongue scraping
Hot/cold contrasting shower
Juice: 64ounces "Bleeding Hearts" --beets, romaine, kale, carrot, burdock root, celery, apple, ginger, lemon, pinch of salt to help curve food cravings (it really works!)
Juice: 32 ounces "Appleloupgingerlina" -- just how it sounds: apple, cantaloupe, ginger, lemon, sprulina. Very yummy combo and the key to getting the spirulina to mix fully is to put the hand held blender to it! Zoom, zoom
Juice: 22 ounces "Pretty in Pink" --tangelo, orange, pink grapefruit with liquid C and MSM
Fresh Coconut Water: 16oz
Ginger Tea x2
Enriched honey:
1 tsp
Walk: 3 hours --happens so easily in NYC!
Catnap: 30 mins in a sunny spot of the house...ahhhhh a real luxury
Body Work: 2 hours of working on the sides of my body, which known as the "containers." To become engaged with the sides of your body you are getting more clear on where you end and the world begins. For those who have a hard time setting boundaries for themselves, they tend to "spill out the sides" (aka love handles--I had never thought of them that way before! ;); others who hold on too tightly to their own agendas (aka Type A personalities) tend to be more restricted and congested in their side bodies (IT bands, side ribs, arm pits, sides of the neck, etc.) with little expansion action going on. So what am I?? Well, each side seems to be different! My right side wants to naturally do what we call in Anusara yoga more "inner spiral" or rotate in towards the center of the body, whereas my left side wants to go the opposite way -- turn out and expand to the parameters. Maybe this is why I always feeling literally pulled in two directions, and in my yoga practice my body is very different in terms of what it can do from side to side? The other interesting tidbit I learned from my therapist are that they ways in which our bodies are constructed have been linked, in more recent studies, to the nutrition of the mother, particularly in her first trimester. Apparently the best way to tell if a newborn has been properly nourished in the womb is to look at the upper palate in their mouths. If their palate bridge is wide ( unfortunately I am not sure of the exact measurements) then they are in very good health, but if it is narrow, which almost every one's is these days, then they were lacking in nutrients in the womb. Now, if I, for example, got pregnant and ate an all raw diet and lots of high vibrational foods and juices for the entire pregnancy, that does not necessary mean my child will have a wide bridge and be in perfect health. It takes 2 to 6 (depending on your cultural background --folks from more tribal and clan based cultures will respond a lot faster than those from a European background like mine) generations to reverse the misdoings of our foremothers and fathers. SO sad!! But the good news is that it has to start some time, and it is clear that in my family the real changes are starting with me. SO mommies, please put down the cupcakes, cookies, cakes it's not worth it! Have a juice instead they are so deeply satisfying and nurishing in ALL ways and have amazing long term effects for you and your little ones.

Long live the juice!
