Sleep: 11: 00pm-6:30am
Hot Tea: 16oz Peppermint
Skin brushing/tongue scraping Hot/cold contrasting shower
Juice: 32ounces "The Killer XXX"-- Apple, EXTRA ginger, EXTRA cayenne pepper!
Juice: 64 ounces "Green Lemonade" -- romaine, celery, kale, cucumber, ginger, lime, zeolite
Juice: 32 ounces "Pretty in Pink" --tangelo, blood orange, pink grapefruit with liquid C, Vitamin D3 and MSM
Feast Breaker: 2 tablespoons "energy soup" from The Ann Wigmore's Institute -- I bet you weren't expecting since I promised you prunes today.
Well, my intention was to go for the soaked prunes, but as the day went on I got colder and colder feet and super fearful about breaking the feast. I have felt SOOO good these last couple of days that I just did not want to end it yet. I also was having some anxiety about eating foods again and the effects they will have on me. So after a very "everything is going right" day on juices I went to a lecture given by Ann Wigmore's senior instructors from her healing institute in Puerto Rico. I have always wanted to go there and thought this would be a good opportunity to see what the teachers are like. Ann Wigmore, for those of you new to the name, is the mother of the living foods movement who healed herself and thousands of others with live, raw foods.
Her signature "dish" is also her prescription to anyone trying to heal, prevent or maintain themselves is called "energy soup." Essentially it is a blended concoction of fibrous veggies, micro leafy greens, mixed with a touch of rejuvelac, or fermented wheat berry water (full of natural probiotics and digestive enzymes), a little avocado, sprouts and the secret and most delicious ingredient, dulse (seaweed), unrinsed so that the natural sea salts season the soup.
Going into the lecture I had know idea that they were going to demo how to properly make this soup and then hand out little samples of it for us to try. At first I felt trepidation about whether or not to take some. One the one hand I really wanted to try it just to see what it was like, but then again I felt so good juicing and wasn't 100 percent sure I was going to break the feast today. And if I was to break it then I am supposed to be eating prunes.
Then I had a moment of clarity! Why not have this pure, vibrant fibrous energy soup in the presents of healing people to break my feast instead of at home with some ugly bloated prunes? So I did it- I took a dixie cup, opened my mouth and chewed the already masticated savory bright green soup. WOW, what flavor it had! It was the most delicious thing ever! Everyone around me was making funny grossed out faces, but my taste buds were so deeply satisfied and ecstatic by the nutty, salty, crunchy (despite the fact that it was pureed it still seemed crunchy to my teeth), thick yumminess to land on their playing field. Had I been eating as normal and given the same soup, I would have reacted very disappointed as most of the crowd did, but not after juicing for 30 days, no way, bring it on!! But funny enough because it was so deeply satisfying and nutrient dense, 2 tablespoons of the stuff left me feeling totally content and full! This is exciting news for a chronic over eater!
After that experience, all my fears about eating melted away. I survived, feel great and ready to enter the solid (or at least blended) food world again.
So with a full, happy tummy, I walked home with an extra skip in my step loving life even more and so happy that the universe present the most perfect and optimal way for me to break my feast.
But, is it also telling me it's time to invest in a VitaMix and head down to Puerto Rico? Stay tuned to find out! LOL
